On New Years Eve I was blessed with a new puppy! It was fate!

December 31st was my mother's birthday, so that day is always bittersweet for me. I had an appointment to take my dog to the vet. Prior to that, my friend text me about a puppy for sale for just $150 because of a defective eye and I was all excited to get it. I called th shop and BAM, they had just sold it. I was a little bummed but figured it was for the better!

When I got to my dog's vet, this lady walked out with the cutest littel puppy, so naturally I began with the 21 questions...how old? name? where they got it? The lady proceeds to tell me that she found the dog abandoned and neglected. She didn't know what kind it was and the estimated age was 6-8 weeks. Then she said the magical words, "I have to give it up for adoption!" I instantly asked her to take my info and let me know when she was ready, and she told me I could take him that day!

My other dog loves him, my bf and I love him, and it seemed like my mommy just wanted me to be happy that day! Well enough about that....introducing....CHUBS

Hair One hair cleanser and conditioner *Dry Scalp Formula*

I kept hearing rave reviews about this product and one day I was reading Traycee's review at http://keepitsimplesista.blogspot.com/2009/03/hair-one-review.html

So last weekend when I was Sally's, I decided to finally pick it up! Well ladies, I must say, it was worth it and all the reviews were on point! I used it exactly as the directions said and it worked wonders on my hair. The tea tree oil really made my scalp tingle and feel clean, yet the product was softening my hair like any other conditioner, at the same time! My scalp was extrememly clean by the end of the wash and honestly, I don't see myself using real shampoo other than once a month to clarify.

I would definitely recommend this product to everyone! I will be purchasing more of this in all the different formulas!

I am still feeling out my EVCO and will do a review in another week, but so far so good.

So for a while I was battling my hair! I wanted the straight, bouncy wrap and the sexy look it gave me, yet didnt want to put my hair through the torture! Whenever I would go weeks without heat, I would only rock a banana clip! I recently discovered the bantu knot out! OMG this style is a life saver! I co-washed, then airdryed, then moisturized with mango butter and sealed with cocnut oil, then did a two strand twist and made bantu knots! In the morning, I untwisted them and BAN, fabulous curls! I will make a list of my mini haul purchases from this weekend!

Hi all! So after viewing this informative post ( http://www.hairliciousinc.com/2009/11/deep-conditioning-on-dry-hair-with.html ) by the lovely Sunshyne, I had to go out and make a few purchases!

My hair has been shedding alot lately and no matter what I do, whether its no heat for 2 weeks or 2 DCs weekly or cowashing every other day, it sheds! I have been doing protein treatments regularly and nothing has changed! I watched the video in the above link and remembered that I kept saying I was gonna buy some coconut oil, so today I finally did!

I am going to try the DC with coconut oil, with some JBCO on my edges and some argan oil on my ends and see if this helps!

I will post pics of all the products I bought today later!

So this has been the longest week ever! I am super excited to have the next 2 days off! Tomorrow the plan is to get a few things done and then treat myself to a mani n pedi and eyebrow threading! I may even do my hair, LOL!

I am trying to avoid heat so I think that next week I will get senegalese twists to keep my hands out of my hair for awhile, courtesy of the BF as an early Christmas gift! I love him!

I am dreading doing more Christmas shopping, partially because I always find away to spend more money on myself! But alas, I must get some shopping done, especially for the kids in my life!

About Green Tea and Weight Loss - The No-Nonsense Truth
Consider the following - One pound of fat (.45 kg) is equivalent to approximately 3500 calories. Whether using green tea for weight loss or any other method, in order to lose one pound of fat over the period of a week, a person must maintain a calorie deficit of 3500 below their normal "set point", that "set point" being the amount of calories consumed in one's diet where a person neither loses nor gains fat. This calorie deficit can come through the modification of diet, through exercise, or a through a combination of both. According to the research, if a person were to change nothing outside of adding five cups of green tea to their diet per day, then over the course of 43 days one could expect to lose 1 pound. Over the period of one year, one could expect a loss of about 8 pounds. Yes, there is some correlation between green tea and weight loss, unfortunately it's not on the level many would have you believe.

Clearly, drinking green tea alone is not going to be satisfactory for significant weight loss. Still, green tea can still be quite useful as a weight loss aid. The extra 80 calories per day can be just what a person needs to tip the scale from a calorie surplus to a calorie deficit, especially when following a balanced nutrition and exercise regime.

Tattoo for Mommy and Me

July 16, 2009 marked the 11 year anniversary of my mother's death. She was the most important person in my life and for a long time I just wanted something to express my eternal love for her and honor her memory.

On thursday 7-16-09, I got a tattoo on my thigh of a water lily aka lotus, (one of ) the flower for the month of july. At first I wasnt fond of getting it on my thigh bc it seemed like an inappropriate type spot, like maybe i'd put a boy toys name or something there, but due to the fact that i work in a professional environment, I have to becareful of where i place my body art.

The flower is the beginning of a piece that will be dedicated to those that I love. July is the month of my birth and the month of my mommys death so it was fitting, in december i will get the flower for the month of her birth, then in the future if I live for the passing of my grandmother and aunt/mom figure, i will honor them with their birth month flowers as well.

I love tattoos and i think that a flower is a great symbol of life and death and a beautiful way to show my love to the the ppl i love!

My birthday was amazing and I made sure my boyfriend's birthday was great too

Friday, July 10th, I turned 23! I had a great dinner with my friends at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse. Then, Saturday, I enjoyed a night out at Ly Michaels with my friends. Sunday Night i went to Red Lobster with the boo and my besties!

Then, Wednesday was my baby's bday and so Friday we went to Onyx and had a blast. Never been to a gentlemens club but it was cool! The next night, we hit up a club and had a great time.....I will post pics!

Insecurity can be instilled in the most CONFIDENT person. Once it grabs hold of you, it can slowly poison the relationships you love the most.

This has been my weakness and after a long talk with my boyfriend last night, I really am making a big effort to cleanse my self of this feeling. I am not too much of a jealous type and I am not controlling but sometimes, I get a feeling of insecurity that makes me question things when there is no reason to!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to be off today! I haven't had a weekday off since President's day! I love have weekends off but sometimes ou need a weekday to really handle business!

Last night I went out with my team from work for our graduation dinner! It was soooooooooo lovely! First we went out to happy hour at our fav bar! After that, we went to CHIMA! I had some of the most delicious meats and salads at this restaurant! I am definitely goin back!

I need to get a new debit card because mine mysteriously disappeared yesterday! Oh well! In addition to that, I need to wash my hair and figure out what I will do with it after that!

I passed my tests for myjob so I am good to go! All the stress has been lifted from me! I am back to having a life again! Thursday April 2nd was the best day ever!

Ok lovies, once again I have to apologize for my absence!

Work---Work is fun and i love it but it is also stressful. My 10 week training, of which i have 3 more to go, is pass or fail so I have to stay focused. My commute to work is 40 minutes and so i have 10 hour days for the most part and by time I get home, I am just dead! Now, due to call volume, we will be actually answering calls on Mondays on mandatory overtime, 8-6, so with my commute i will be up by 6 and home by 7pm at the latest, so that is 13 hours!!!!! The pay is great so I'm fine with it all!

Home life---Things are great at home. I miss my boo with the longer days but he makes sure he is focused on me when I get home. He goes jogging with me at night so that is a good time as well!

Health---I am jogging again now that the daylight last longer! I am determined to shed these pounds. I am getting my lean cuisine back into my diet! I am focused and I plan to stay that way. My bf still has eye issues, but its stable for now til surgery time!

All in all, everything is ok and I am taking life day by day!

Well well well...i am super sick.

I spent valentine's day weak and in bed (not the way i had planned), with a fever, cough, congestion, head ache, ear pain, etc.

This cold/flu has been sneaking up on me since Wednesday, but by Friday it caught me and knocked me out! I have been doped up on thera flu and nyquil since friday! I haven't left the house since I came home Friday!

I love my new job so far! The hours are new for me but I love it so far! The people seem nice, the trainer is fun, the pay is off the chain!

So my bf and i went to this new club with a few of our friends! We had a lot of fun! We decided to compete to see who would get the most numbers....OMG it was hilarious! But in the end we ditched the competition and just enjoyed each other! It was a good night! This is the look we rocked!

I just want to share some good news with you all!

For those who know me personally, you all know my boyfriend got injured on his job last year and the past 8 months have been very hard for us!

I prayed and prayed and decided that 2009 would be our year! On January 5, 2009, I randomly decided to apply for a new job. There is nothing wrong with mu old one but I wanted an opportunity for more money. By the end of the month, I got a call saying I got the job!

Now, the job presented a lot of new issues. For one, there is a longer commute, and secondly, they hire everyone as temporary to permanent, and that scares me! I decided to go ahead and take the chance and simply apply myself because I know I will be successful! The main issue though, was that my bf was stilling going back and forth to the doctors and things weren;t really looking up. With a new job, I just can't be taking off time all willy nilly!

Well today we went to his doctor and found out that his eye has stabilized and we can take a break before moving on to the next phase: reconstructive surgery! We also found out that with this surgery, he may get some eyesight back in that eye! I am so happy for him, you all have no idea

I love this man and he is my future and all this has only made us stronger! Tonight we went out to dinner to celebrate the good news and my new job!

Love and faith has held me above water in 2009 so far and I hope it continues to go that way!

My 100th post!!!!!

Hi guys! This is my 100th post and I am so excited! It is snowing again, which is fine because I am off tomorrow, but too bad I have to go with my BF to the eye doc!

Today I gave my resignation to my main manager! He was very supportive and made this transition easier! My coworkers were all excited for me as well!

I don't really have much to say right now but whatev, its my 100th post and it can be as random and pointless as I want it to be

Ok guys, I am slightly behind on posting but I have a lot to share!

Saturday, I went to spend the day with my godson! Today is his 3rd birthday and my how time flies! I looooooooooooooooooove this little boy with all my heart and he is truly a blessing. He is in the cutest stage right now! I walked in and he says, "hi aunt Jammie, I love you soooooooooooooo much" then when I was leaving he was running around biting his mom's butt, LMAO! I just can't get enough of him!

Yesterday, I spoke with my supervisor and I gave her my notice! I was really sad when I told her and we went over the pros and cons of leaving! She is a great erson and I am happy we talked. Thursday is my last day at work, a bittersweet moment.

Today I took the day off because I have time to use before I leave my job! I had a dentist appoitment and I left there pretty annoyed. First off, when i called they told me my copay was only $25! I got there and the dental assistant took some xrays and then the dentist came in and told me what I need to schedule to be done! Well when i left that heffa at the front desk said I had to pay $62 for the visit....i say huh lady what?!?! Whatever I paid that ish! then the dentist says i need to get a filling but it could possibly require a root canal! Needless to say thatish is expensive as hell so I am NOT HAPPY! I will think about it tho!

Have no fear, I made myself feel better! I went to Old Navy and got 3 shirts for $13, then went to DSW to look at shoes. I hate that store though because OMG its too big so I get overwhelmed looking for shoes and also they are quite pricey. I then did a follow up on my new job, then went to visit my BFF at her job (where I used to work a few years ago so I know everybody in there). After all that I went to the nail salon. I got a manicure and pedicure and got my brows neatened up!

I am sooooooooooo exhausted, so now it is nap time! I will take pics of the nails and toes later! I have to go jogging in a bit and then I am shopping for some more work clothes!

Mini Haul Today

Hey hey ladies!

Today I made a few purchases!

First, I went to Old Navy! I bought my god son a bunch of outfits for his b-day (Monday) and I got myself some cute lounge pants to work out in!

Then, off to MAC! The girl who did the looks I requested wasn't really that good so I didn't buy any of the eye shadows she tried on me, but I did buy a new bottle of Sutdio Fix in NW47 (i was running low), a new blush that can double as an eye shadow (I will post pics later of the color) , and a brow liner that I will be returning b/c the chances of me using it are slim to none but I figured I would get it b/c she tried so hard!

Lastly, I bought a new product by got2b called Guardian Angel 425 degrees F heat protect and flatten! I will try this tonight after I wash my hair and post results for you all!

I am Taking a Chance and Taking the Job!!!!

I had a lot of decisions to make in regards to taking this job! I thought on it, got opinions from my closest friends, and most importantly, I prayed on it.

I decided that although it is taking a risk and losing the job security I have become accustomed, God would not put anything in my path that I could not handle! I hope that I am making the right decision, but I cannot live my life wondering "what if I had taken that job."

On a beauty note, I will be going to MAC this weekend to have them create an easy smokey eye look for me, as well as a neutral eye! I want to have the option of being simple or drastic when I please so a mini haul is in the near future!

I will also start running again this weekend. It is a priority and its been calling back to the trail so I must answer the calling!

Time for me to go to my job and let them know I will be leaving! I am so nervous and sad about this but I have to do what is best for me and my future!

Ok ya'll, so last night when I left work I had to clean off my car, warm it up, and to make matters worse, the gov't didn't think the snow would stick soooooo...THE ROADS WERE NOT CLEAR! My usual 10 minute drive home from work at midnight, turned to 25 minutes....not cute! Today was so drab and dreary so I decided to stay home (i used personal time so I get paid anyway)

Ummmm this is the second day I couldn't start running due to bad weather so whomp whomp! Its raining now so tomorrow will be icy so again no running for me!

hair and make-up update!

Last night I DCed/cowashed with a mixture of Conditioners! I mixed ORS replenish condish, roux porosity mendex, lustrasilk mango cholesterol, and some left over Silk Elements megasilk. I left it on for about an hour or two, then i rinsed out in the shower with cool water and followed up with some Nexxus humectress that i left on for like 5 minutes. My hair was like butter! I put on my leave ins and then I let airdry for a few minutes! Then I blowdried using the round thermal brush i talked about in the previous post.

I must say my hair came out silky smooth with that brush! I loved the final results but I dont think it is something i will use to dry my whole head again! I felt so guilty after using it and also I was worried of damage I may have caused my hair! I think i will only use it to straighten my roots after a rollerset or something!

On to the make-up....I am loving the #168 brush I got from MAC! My makeup seems to last longer during the day and even after my 8 hou shift, it looks like new! Friday I am going to MAC to get some more foundation and I will also be making them do a smokey eye look on me. New Job, New look

Tomorrow I plan on taking a run! I have to start getting back into running outside for those 2 miles daily! It was a great workout and it gave me time to think! I will go tomorrow right before the doctor visit since I have to up anyway!

I am off to work but I will let you all know what I decide....I am leaning heavily to a HELL YES I will take the job!

Mini Haul

I wear foundation daily and something was no longer doing the trick, IDK if it was the 191 brush by MAC that the girl sold me, my sponge applicator, or the foundation so yesterday, i went in and decided i needed an change. I spoke with this lovely man, who had the fiercest eyebrowns, and he told me that I had the right foundation for the coverage I wanted and then he used this wonderful brush to apply my foundation. Let me tell ya'll, I looked like an airbrushed beauty! It really made a difference with how my foundation looked and the coverage that it provided!

Saturday, I also bought some hair products...of course! I got Hawaiian Silky 14-1 to use as a moisturizer and so far so good. It has a light, creamy consistency and it smells amazing! I also got a round thermal brush, kind of like the one pictured below, except the brand is ION. I think I will try this the next time I blow dry, as opposed to using my comb attachment! I also bought a refill for my Silk Elements MegaSilk Moisture Treatment, this stuff is the truth.

Ok ya'll I went and toook my second test today for the new job and I passed and then completed 1 of 2 interviews via phone! I will find out if I get the 2nd job in 7-10 days!

Last night I used some flexi-rods in my hair to get a nice curl and bounce and it turned out good! Time for me to go do my 4 hours at work so I will post some pics later

Movie Review....No-No-No-Notorious!

OMG, what a greaaaaaaaat movie! I wasn't a HUUUUUGE fan of Biggie...I liked him and most of his music but because of my age, I wasnt that hype on him! Lemme tell you though, this movie gave me insight to who Biggie the artist and Christopher Wallace the man, was!

I laughed, I rapped along, and I shed a tear! This movie was very well produced and didn;t fail to be informatie, while entertaining! I must also say for the up and coming actors/actresses that were casted for the various roles, they truly did their thing!

This is a must see for anyone out there that was a fan, wants to get to know more about Biggie, or just wants to experience what hip hop was like just a decade ago!

I would advise no young one tho because there was a lot of profanity and some nudity! Some people had kids in there but it truly depends on how you raise your children! Do you want to have to explain certain things? Do you want them to know about an icon? There was a couple with a little girl about 5 years old. She asked a lot of questions! LOL!

Anyway...GO SEE IT!

Tis is how I wore my hair today for my testing for the new job!

Hi Ya'll!

So today I went to take some testing for a new job I am hopin to get. The pay is double what I make now, plus some, 100% tuition reimbursement and 100% health coverage with no co-pays! I passed the 1st test and now I have to schedule for another one so wish me luck!

While there, I saw some hair that made me cringe! I wish I had BHM and KISS business cards!

Anywhoo, Tomorrow I am ending my 10 week stretch. I was trying to hold out til the end of the month but my hair is shedding and breaking and because i was underprocessed last time, the line of demarcation is not holdig up well! I will post pics tomorrow after I am done!

I will be using Mizani Butterblends for coarse/resistant hair. I will base my scalp with Summit tonight and again tomorrow before I relax! I am going to dye it black with Bigen, right afterwards and then blowdry!

Tomorrow I will be purchasing a new blow dryer from Sally's! It will be Ionic and ceramic and I hope to get great results!

Product Review and TV Rant

Tonight I tried the Joico K-Pak and let me tell you, the instant it touched my hair I felt a difference! At first when I put it in my hand, it didn't have that creamy consistent look and had a slightly lumpy consistency so I felt like I had been hoodwinked since I didn't buy it at a salon! It had a very nice scent and I could almost smell a slight hint of banana!

I do not know yet if it well help my breakage/shedding/etc but for the initial use, I love it! I hope after my hair is dry and I comb it out, i will see a huge difference!

Now, the TV rant!
AMERICAN IDOL is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Yes, sometimes it seems fake, yes they let losers audition just for laughs, but Lawd I am addicted to it! I will be tuned in faithfully

Nip/Tuck's second episode was tonight! I loooove this show!

Bad Girl's Club is my ish and tonight, the episode was craaaazy! Sometimes I really think "damn, why don'tI get on a damn show?" Oh well

Ok ya'll so my hair is doing well and after flat-ironing it, honestly the sshedding has basically stopped. My hair loves protein and moisture just the same, so i made a lovely purchase to try out a new reconstructor!

Ya'll know i LOVE Aphogee and it will forever remain a staple for me, especially the 2 minute reconstructor, but I decided to try another reconstructor to see how it works so I purchased Joico K-Pak

OK....for starters, today is my little cousin's birthday...she is 17 today! I looove her to death like my little sister, she is the best and I am so pleased with how she is growing up!

On a beauty note, I got my eyebrows done yesterday and i got a manicure! It was so great to finally beautify myself!

Ok ya'll I washed my hair today! I am so obsessed with washing my air and so I had to do it...AGAIN!

I shampooed using aphogee deep moisture shampoo, then applied some roux porosity mendex (to help with the shedding and minor breakage, then I DCed with Biolage Hydrating Balm mixed with a little Nexxus Humectress! I must say that for the price of biolage, nothing really stands out to me. The tube is probably enough for 5 DCs depending on how heavily you coat ur hair, and that is not worth it to me! I will use thistil it is done but unless something happens to change my mind I probably won't repurchase.

I let airdry for about 5 minutes, then ssprayed with aphogee keratin and green tea reconstructor and elasta qp h-two leave in. I coated my ends in herbal essence long term relationship split end protector (HE LTR) then applied some chi silk infusion to the length of my hair. I sat undr the dryer for about 15 minutes and then blow dried my hair on low. i sprayed with nexxus heat protectant and then did a few thingss around the house. I flat ironed my hair before going out tonight, with my FHI. I must say for being 8-9 weeks post, my FHI did a good job and my hair had great swang.

The fequent cowashes and bunning and no heat for the past few weeks have also thickened my hair up, and for those who know me in RL, yall know i have madddd hair already! I took some pics but mcamera is in the car and I am too lazy to go get it so I will post them tomorrow!

I woke up and ate breakfast...yes you heard me....BREAKFAST! I am not a breakfast eater cuz I am usually not hungry but that right there is a problem b/c then I am STARVING later and bam, extra pounds.

I had a glass of soy milk (my first time) and some honey cracked (i aint taste no damn honey) wheat bread with scrambled eggs (not ready to just do egg whites)! It was a tasty breakfast!

For dinner I am making curried chicken and rice with stringbeans to take to work! I have fruit and water to get me through the rest of the day!

My hair is looking good ya'll! Growing like wildfire! I am gonna post a few pics!

Ok ya'll I think I am more obsessed with food shopping than clothes, shoes, make-up, etc (not hair tho)!

Tonight, after work, I went to my local grocery store, which conveniently is open 24 hours seeing as though i get off of wrok at midnight! I spent so much but I got so much! I got fruits and veggies and for once I am trying soy milk! My bofriend stocked up on his usual faves, but I am on a health kick and refuse to slip off this early. I looooooooooooooooooove food so I am gonna make this work for me!

Splurging and an Update

Ok...bad me, yes I know...I went back to Victoria's Secret and got some more essentials! I just had to! I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I am very pleased with my purchases.

My cowash with Nexxus was great. My hair felt so good afterwards and the smell was lovely too! I airdried and sprayed with leave in and the aloe juice/rose water mix...AMAZING. Afterwards I sealed with grapeseed oil, which I am pleasantly pleased with! I have 2 inches of NG in the back/middle of my hair where it grows the fastest and about an inch in the front! I plan on stretching my relaxer til the 30th!

My new Discovery

So due to my quest for better health and weight loss, I deccided to add fish to my diet. I am lazy and I like easy meals and I got it! Ateya made a video about her favorite foods/snacks (check her youtube out)and she mentioned they sell tilapia by the box at Walmart, and they are individually packed. Well I figured, it sounds easy and yum so I bought some.

I found a lot of great and simple recipes for it and I am loving it.

Today I am eating garlic parmesan crusted tilapia

I don't really measure but I will give you the break down:

follow directions to thaw fish!

you will need: mayonnaise, olive oil, parmesan cheese, red pepper, salt/pepper, garlic or garlic powder, onion powder.

preheat oven to broil once fish is thawed

mix about a teaspoon of mayo, olive oil, parm

add in a dash of each of the seasons (make your own judgements) and stir

put tilapia in dish or on a foil covered baking sheet and place in the oven

allow to broil 2-3 minutes then turn over and repeat

take out of oven and pour mix on top

put bake in and let broil another 2 minutes or until golden brown

So I decided to treat myself today! I have been working hard, even taking over time at work, and I finally had a chance to relax. I went to Walmart and indulged myself in the hair care section. My boyfriend spent the whole time telling me I have enough conditioners to open my own salon and I don't need anymore and BLAH BLAH BLAH. I decided since I will be stretching another 3-4 weeks, I deserve a good condish so I FINALLY picked up some NEXXUS HUMECTRESS! I am about to light a candle and go wash my hair (LMAO). I will post a review on this later in the week so I can truly assess how it worked!

Aloe Vera Juice/Rose Water Moisturizing Spritz

Inspired by the beautiful Traycee, creator of www.k-i-s-s.biz , I decided to make this spritz for my hair! I am currently 8 weeks post relaxer and my new growth is really thick! I usually have braids at this point but I am trying something new by learning to deal with my hair for an entire stretch!

I used a spray bottle and filled it half way with aloe vera juice and then the remaining space i filled with rose water (smells heavenly BTW). I spritzed my hair and at first I was skeptical because its so liquidy I thought it was just like spraying water on my hair, but surprisingly it softened my hair nicely. I let it dry a little and then I sealed with grapeseed oil! I am going to try this for a week and see how it goes!

New Year, New Me

Okay lovies first of all I want to wish you all a SAFE, HAPPY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. Please, in whatever you do tonight, be safe!

Today I purchased some grapseed oil and rose water. New year=new products!

But on the real, I have learned a lot this past year! This year has been a rough year for me in many different aspects and I am determined to take control of my life and make 2009 the best year ever! I have a lot that I would like to change in my life and I plan on doing it step by step. I will share a few of my ideas with you all but the rest are so special to me, I feel if I reveal it I may jinx it!

In 2009, I will be the best I can be physically, mentally, and spiritually. I have a great man in my life and I intend on keeping him. He has been my rock through everything life has thrown at us and I love him forever. We have seen 3 New Years together and I plan on seeing many more.

I also plan on becoming healthier. I want to lose 20 pounds and maintain my weight from there. I love my figure and I love my thickness and I am glad I am proportioned well, because people always are shocked I want to lose so much weight, but it is necessary. I love to cook and love food in general and I realize diets are not for me, but I will learn how to maintain my weight with the foods I love.

I plan on continuing to grow my hair, healthy and long and strong. I have a goal of BraStrapLength but I just want to be happy with it! I want to incorporate more natural products into my regimen and so that will further contribute to my love of spending money! LOL

I want to further my education and also look into another job. I loe the one I am at but financially I need more. I have goals in life that I must achieve and whether ya'll wanna believe it or not, MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND...tell em you heard it from me!

All in all I want to live my life to the fullest and take every opportunity that comes my way to enhance the life I lead. LIVE.LEARN.LOVE is my philosophy. My advice to you all is to make the best of your life and continue to just be a better you!

To Braid or Not to Braid

Okay ya'll I love me some braids! They are a very easy style for me and it really helps my hair to grow! I want to re-braid my hair to help me stretch longer but I have a few issues. Help me out please!

Pros:
-Protective style (ends)
-Keeps heat outta my head
-Versatility
-Cute
-Affordable, considering I do it myself
-Wash and go

Cons:
-I like my braids tight and neat, therefore will not help me on my goal of thickening up my edges
-Once the braids are out and I am detangling, there is so much shed hair and I can't tell if it is normal or excessive
-I hate the time it takes to put it in and take it out
-I notice alot of splits afterwards

So what you think!?!

Ok....so I have seen this in my fav Beauty Supply Store (BSS) over and over again. Everytime I see it I pick it up, examine the ingredients, re-examine making sure i didn't bypass mineral oil and petroleum, then I put it down and say "maybe next time." Well Friday, i went to my BSS and decided I had to have it!

For those who know me from BHM, ya'll know I haaaaaaaaaate sealing my hair (after moisturizing hair, one should seal it in with an oil)! Its not that hard to do, ubt most oils make my hair feel heavy and I don't like that. I love for my hair to be light and have a nice swing to it! Well, after trying evoo, castor oil, and doogro...I ran into kemi oyl (which i love and will do a review on another day) and then Friday I bought Jamaican Mango & Lime Island Oil!

Pros:

~Nice citrus, yet sweet scent

~Nozzle as a top to help control the amount that comes out (easy for when applying to scalp when in braids {not the same top pictured above})

~Doesn't leave my hair greasy or overly shiny

~Lightweight

~Good price (3.99-4.99)

Cons

~kind of runny (but thats what helps keep it light and makes it perfect)

WTF MY DAMN HAIR IS STILL THE SAME COLOR

The thing is tho, it isn't because it isn't a good dye/rinse but more so because the color I have on my ends is from a permanent dye! I guess when I am really ready to change the color of my hair, I will get it done professionally again!

I did a great DC last night with Silk Elements Mega Milk Moisture Treatment and ladies, let me tell you...my hair was soft as B-U-T-T-E-R and smelled like Victoria Secret something! I dusted my ends a tad today!

well basically nothing new has happened with my hair, but I have tried to refrain from using my flat iron and so far so good! I am loving my hair, even at almost 8 weeks post!

Mine was great! My aunt and cousin was here from Jamaica, and my other cousin (the genius creator of www.looseneck.com) came to visit from New York. All in all, 1/4 of my family (17 people present for dinner today) came together for a GREAT dinner, singing, laughter, prayer, and pure entertainment and merriment!

I got a few gifts, but being with everyoe made today really special! Now, I will wait for New Years to arrive! I'm soooo ready for 2009!

*My new piercing is doing great! Today it was pretty itchy but a in al things are good! My hair is doing well and I am pleased with the growth! Stay tuned for a product review!

Next Hair Change...Color!

I kinda wanna dye my hair jet black! I love my hair color and its so different, according to most people, but I have an obsession with jet black hair

Today I had a busy schedule! I had a doctor appointment for myself at 9 am. I had to get a shot and that was it!

Then I went with my best friend of 20 years for her first ultra sound. She is 13 weeks pregnant and I am super excited. OMG they baby has formed, although still only about 2 inches long, we were able to see the arms and legs and head. Also, the baby was tested for Down syndrome, which thank goodness came up negative! I cannot wait til the next visit when we find out the sex. My best friend is newly married, but her hubby couldn't get off and I couldn't let her go alone! The heartbeat of the baby sealed the deal for me!

So although a majority of my fav TV shows have taken a hiatus, the usual winter break, one show is still keeping me entertained weekly...

Season 3 of the Bad Girls Club! Please please, if you can watch this show on oxygen or catch up online.....straight up comedy and drama! These girls are a mess but I love em! My fav is tiffany and Kayle, yes the two black girls, but not because they are black!

Tiffany is this cute young lady trying to beccome a better person! She had a hard life and grew up in the "hood" but she has alot of class and is working at staying calm in the madness.

Kayla is the complete opposite. She had a hard life but is so troubled and filled with anger, she lashes out at the smallest thing! B!tch this and b!tch that, spazzing out on strangers, etc. She and Tiff will come to blows shortly...trust me!

Piercings and Tatt Love

Ok ya'll, for those of you that know me personally, you know i love piercings and tatts! I currently have 12 piercings, all of which i love, and 1 tattoo! I want to get atleast 4 more tattoos but all in due time. I want one on my foot, behind my ear, top of back, possibly add more to the one on my back, and one on my hip. I think that would be enough but who knows! I am unsure of what I want to get yet tho so I am waiting!

As for my ear, I will be getting my tragus pierced Friday or Saturday! I have wanted this done for ome time now but just haven't been yet! Well whenever I get the urge to pierce, I do it! For some reason a piercing has always been my way to deal with stress or symbolize a new start. For every piercing I have, other than the 1st ones i got as an infant, it marked a specific time in my life! Other than my tragus, I want possibly my rook and/or snug pierced but I havent decided yet!

So I am totally obsessed with the Blackberry Storm. I bought my baby one for Christmas and it came a few days ago! I love it and I always try to pay with it but that fool got stingy now and tryna act all saddidy about his new found girlfriend! LMAO men!

My hair is doing well! I am applying MT and thinking about continuing using MTG in conjuction with it! I want to be APL by March so I am upping the anty! I am taking these braids out around Christmas so I will post pics of the growth!

Today was a long day! I went to visit my family, then I got my car fixed, then I ran a few errands, came home, napped for an hour, then went to my friend's holiday party!

I had a great time and it relieved my stress! The weekend is over though, back to work tomorrow!

I am so sure of it....This has been the worst week, damnit the worst year ever! Things just cannot go right. The minute things brighten up, something happens to bring me back down! I am so over 2008 and honestly I can't wait til 2009 comes around.

Ok...I am washing my braids tonight because my scalp is on fire and has lots of buildup!

My squeem came today but I was at work, so tomorrow I will be home for the delivery of my new BFF! I will post pics!

What are your plans for the weekend? So far I have a meeting tomorrow with my BFs lawyer and a holiday party on Saturday!

*Hair Growth*

So my braids have been in for almost a week and already its loosening up! I used MTG for the first 4 days and now I am using the Mega Tek (I got it yesterday)! OMG it smells like coconuts and I love it! For now I am using it on my edges and short spot on the right, but tomorrow night I will wash my hair with diluted clarifying shampoo and DC and then I will start using MT all over!

*Personal Growth*

My dad and I are not the closest we should be! It bothers me for the most part, but honestlynot as much as it should. My father was always in the picture, not physically but I could call if I needed to, etc. He has made many mistakes as a father and has handled critical situations poorly, and for that he has permanently scarred our relationship! I love him but I resent him. I want our relationship to be better, but at the same time I kind of wish I could just sever the ties and grow as a woman without dealing with him!

Anyway, today after a convo with a close friends of his, I was given insight on certain things about my father, that I suppose the person thought would make me see things clearer. Well, instead it gave me more reason to just feel sorry for him! I feel sad that he missed out on so many important parts of my life, and I feel sorry for him that he will neer be able to make up for it! I think once we get a chance to sit down and discuss everything and put everything on the table, we can become closer! Who knows....maybe one day

Karma?

Do you guys believe in karma?

I believe in karma to a certain extent, but I have a hard time fathoming that this string of bad luck i have hit in my life is due to, or equal to, the amount of bad I may have done in my life! Sometimes, I believe more in the idea that "Life isn't fair"

More than all of that, I believe God has a plan for me! I will continue to pray and have faith that things will get better!
